General Volunteers

Volunteers are needed for general office duties, maintenance, and various other tasks. Individual volunteers and volunteer teams are welcome!

Pantry Network of Eastern Suburbs Volunteers

Volunteers are needed to assist stocking shelves, registering clients, and escorting and assisting patrons as they shop for their goods. Volunteer hours are flexible, but Pantry distribution days are the second Saturday of the month from 8:30am to 10:30am. For more information, please contact Stephanie Eson at seson@hscc-mvpc.org or 412-829-7112.

Youth Programs Volunteer

Volunteers are needed to assist the Youth LIFE After-School Program staff any time between the hours of 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday-Thursday, September through May. Tasks would include helping students with homework and academic activities, in addition to becoming mentors to various ages of youth. KOOL Chaperone Volunteer

Volunteers are needed to help chaperone various field trips during the KOOL Summer Program, every Friday, from early July to mid-August. Volunteers must possess current Act 33/34 clearances. For more information, please contact Mallory Clark at 412-829-7112 or mclark@hscc-mvpc.org.

Emerging Leaders Program Volunteer

Professionals are needed in various fields that would be willing to volunteer a few hours of their time with seniors in high school! Every year, the students participate in job shadows, job tours, presentations, and/or informational interviews with professionals in their fields of interest. We are always looking for engaging individuals that would like to share their expertise and knowledge in their careers. Free Tax Preparation Volunteer

Volunteers are needed to assist at the Free Tax Preparation site. Volunteers provide free federal, state, and local income tax preparation assistance to individuals who are on a limited or fixed income. Other volunteers are needed to greet taxpayers when they arrive at the site.

Prospective volunteers will receive FREE training to ensure they meet the IRS guidelines. NO prior experience is needed. All volunteers are taught federal and PA tax law and the preparation of simple tax returns. New volunteers are assigned to work with an experienced volunteer.
