ARTIST STATEMENT<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Rarely do I view something beautiful without calculating how to capture it in a painting! I am particularly inspired by simple scenes, the way sunlight hits a coffee mug or a sleeping cat on a window sill. I want to convey the beauty I see in everyday objects and create a scene which intrigues the viewer and encourages her to slow down and spend some time with the painting. Recently I became enchanted with the vibrant colors and quirky personalities of my friend\u2019s heirloom chickens, and decided that a large scale rooster would be a perfect mural for Buckhannon\u2019s Main Street. Your town holds a special place in my heart as a community dedicated to celebrating the arts.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Ginger Danz is a full-time artist living in Fayetteville, West Virginia, with her husband and daughter. Having juried into Tamarack in 2010, Ginger\u2019s work has been selected for the \u201cBest of Tamarack\u201d juried exhibitions each year since 2010.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Active in her community, Ginger serves as Chair of the Fayetteville Arts Coalition, an organization dedicated to promoting the arts in the New River Gorge area. She was instrumental in launching the Coalition\u2019s \u201cCreative Juices\u201d initiative, a monthly painting event for adult painters of all skill levels. Ginger also teaches art to elementary students at the New River Gorge Learning Cooperative, a Montessori-based learning center in Fayetteville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to Tamarack, Ginger\u2019s work is on display in several West Virginia galleries and restaurants. Her work can also be viewed at www.gingerdanz.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
